Style Guide

The GoMRI style guide provides standards for design of documents to ensure uniformity in style.

Logos

GoMRI-funded researchers and partnering organizations are encouraged to use GoMRI logos for Web sites, outreach materials, etc.  Note: Any use of BP or GOMA logos must receive approval by those entities.

 

Attribution:

Unless otherwise provided in the grant, the grantee is responsible for assuring that an acknowledgment of GoMRI support is made:

  • in any publication (including Web pages) of any material based on or developed under this project, in the following terms:

“This research was made possible by a grant from The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative. Data are publicly available through the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information & Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) at https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org (doi:<doi identifier> [, <doi identifer2>, <doi identifier3>, …].” or

“This research was made possible in part by a grant from The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative, and in part by [list other sources]. Data are publicly available through the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative Information & Data Cooperative (GRIIDC) at https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org (doi:<doi identifier> [, <doi identifer2>, <doi identifier3>, …].”

Please note: In cases where data are stored on servers other than GRIIDC, append the appropriate depository name(s), URL(s) and DOI(s).

  • in any news media interviews, including popular media such as radio, television and news magazines.
