Charles A. Wilson, III is currently the Executive Director of the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program, and a Professor both in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences, School of the Coast and Environment, Louisiana State University (LSU). During his twenty-six year tenure at LSU, Dr. Wilson has also served as Chair of the Department of Oceanography (1995-2002), Director of the Coastal Ecology Institute (2001-2002), and Vice Provost in LSU’s Office of Academic Affairs (2002- 2010). His diverse and rigorous research program on the biota of the northern Gulf of Mexico has resulted in over 100 publications in the primary literature and scores of technical reports focused primarily on marine fish life history and the impact of oil and gas development on fish populations.
